AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO MAGNUM SANTA SOFIA 2019 (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

Santa Sofia's Amarone Magnum Classico is a Veneto red wine that is both powerful and elegant. On the nose we are confronted with a range of decisive and delicate notes, while on the palate the drink is dynamic and juicy, supported by an important tannic texture, in which the warmth deriving from the alcoholic degree is softened by a good vein of freshness. A label of absolute stature, which further increases its dimension thanks to the great final persistence. The perfect bottle to uncork during winter dinners.

Magnum Amarone Classico is made from a blend of red grapes indigenous to the Veneto region, Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. These varieties are grown in the hilly terrain around the municipalities of Negrar, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano and Mariano, where the subsoil is mainly composed of stones. After harvesting, the grapes are dried for a period of between 90 and 120 days in a fruit cellar in Santa Sofia. After vinification, the wine is first left to rest for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks, and then, after bottling is complete, for at least another 12 months directly in glass.

The Amarone Magnum Santa Sofia develops in the glass with a typically ruby colour, very dense and concentrated, practically impenetrable to the eye. The nose is rich and layered, with a multifaceted soul, starting with fruit jam and ending with spicy hints and more balsamic touches. On the palate it has an excellent structure, muscular, with an austere and important sip thanks to the full-bodied tannins; it closes with a finish endowed with excellent persistence. A round, rich and powerful Veneto red that faithfully conveys the extraordinary terrain of Valpolicella. A gift magnum format!
