AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 'RUVALN' ADALIA - CAMERANI 2019 DESCRIPTION

The "Ruvaln" Amarone della Valpolicella by Adalia di Marinella Camerani winery is a full and structured interpretation, of great typicity. We are in the Valle di Mezzane, an area located east of the city of Verona and dedicated to the cultivation of olive trees, cherry trees, chestnuts as well as vines. The richness of watercourses that characterizes this territory has always favored a flourishing agriculture and the consequent presence of settlements. This is the fertile environmental context that gives rise to Adalia's labels, among which the prestigious Amarone 'Ruvaln' stands out, whose name derives from an ancient Cimbrian term meaning "stream", referring precisely to the numerous streams that flow in the area.

The Adalia - Camerani "Ruvaln" Amarone della Valpolicella is made from a blend of Corvina Veronese, Corvinone and Rondinella, grown at an altitude of 400 meters on medium-textured limestone soils. The harvest is carried out with careful selection of the grapes, which are placed to dry in typical drying rooms called 'fruttai' for 3 months. After this period, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, with the must undergoing spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks with 4 weeks of maceration on the skins. The subsequent aging period takes place in 25 hectolitre oak barrels for about 24 months.

Adalia - Camerani "Ruvaln" Amarone della Valpolicella is an intense and dark garnet red colored wine. The olfactory profile is defined by enveloping and intoxicating aromas of fruit under alcohol and sweet spices, enriched by balsamic notes and toasted hints of tobacco and coffee. To the palate it is full-bodied, austere, and silky, with a robust, warm, and rich mouthfeel supported by pleasant freshness and velvety tannins. The finish is extremely persistant.
