'AMMASSO' ROSSO BARONE MONTALTO 2020 DESCRIPTION

'Ammasso' Rosso embodies the essence of winemaking excellence from the producing cellar, Barone Montalto, founded in 2000 in Santa Ninfa, in the picturesque province of Trapani, Sicily. Its history is a tribute to the passion for the land and the constant commitment to producing quality wines rooted in the renowned winemaking tradition of the region. This wine, obtained from a careful selection of grapes and a partial withering process, represents an ode to the territory and its peculiarities, nestled between the Belice Valley, the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, and Noto, the pulsating heart of Sicilian viticulture.

'Ammasso' Rosso from Barone Montalto is the result of careful processing of grapes from vineyards located in a terroir composed of limestone, clay, and iron, with a Mediterranean climate that gives the wine a robust and distinctive character. The grapes, harvested manually and individually arranged in small crates, undergo a partial withering process in a ventilated fruit-drying room for about four weeks, allowing the development of the peculiar aromatic and gustatory characteristics. The wine then matures for about 8-10 months in small wooden barrels, where it acquires complexity and roundness. Attention to detail and respect for the delicate balance of the grapes characterize the entire production process, allowing 'Ammasso' Rosso to express its peculiarities to the fullest.

'Ammasso' Rosso from the Barone Montalto cellar presents itself as a rich and opulent wine, yet elegantly balanced, where candied notes blend with toasted ones, giving roundness and sensuality to the palate. Its intense red color and purple hues invite exploration of a complex and enveloping aromatic bouquet of ripe berries. This wine is suitable to be paired with flavorful meats and aged cheeses, but also with extra dark chocolate, creating gastronomic combinations that enhance the richness and complexity of flavors. 'Ammasso' offers a sensory experience capable of transporting those who taste it on a journey through the scents and flavors of Sicily.
