The Barbera "Bric du Luv" is a red wine of good intensity and complexity, aged in wooden barrels for more than two years. The aromas are pleasant and inviting, played on red fruit with spicy nuances and menthol finish. The taste expresses immediate sensations of freshness, elegance and power in a dynamic and pleasant balance
The Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" by Ca’ Viola is one of the historic labels of Giuseppe Caviola; winemaker, consultant, but mostly producer and winemaker Giuseppe began his adventure in the beautiful backdrop of the Langhe in 1991 with the hiring of a small vineyard and with the commercialization of its Dolcetto; the Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" is the second born at Ca' Viola. A birth that contains within itself a unique feature: Giuseppe decided to hone his "Bric du Luv" in barrels; a choice and a success that has allowed him to become an advisor to many 'barolisti' of the territory.
The Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" by Ca' Viola begins in the vineyard of Montelupo, where is the original core of the company and where we find the bulk of the vineyards, today, owned by Giuseppe. Extending over 11 hectares placed at 400 meters above sea level and exposed to the South, Southeast and Southwest resting on soils rich in clay marl and limestone. The harvest of Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" by Ca' Viola takes place between the second and third week of September, while in the cellar preserves the natural and the natural maturation of not using selected yeasts. At the end of maceration, which lasts for 25 days in steel vats at a controlled temperature, Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" is left to stand for 16-17 months in oak barrels and casks, before stopping and rebalance for 6 months in bottle.
Thus was born the Barbera d'Alba "Bric du Luv" by Ca' Viola; a Barbera which comes with a beautiful red ruby dominated by intense purple hues and dark; a Barbera that combines the fruity notes typical of the variety with the unique mentholated balsamic notes and based on a refinement in barrels and casks. In the mouth we have a powerful Barbera: large, vigorous, well-structured, yet soft and elegant. A Barbera really of quality that you should keep in your cellar.
