Barbian Rosso by Ariola is an blend red wine, coming from the Parma hills, where the Ariola winery was born. It has an intense ruby color and expresses notes of ripe red fruit, black cherries, wild berries, plums and sweet spices, while the mouthfeel is full and structured, with excellent tannins.
The "Barbian" Rosso, made by the Emilian winery Ariola, is an atypical and distinctive label. The company, in fact, is mainly known and specialized in the production of an excellent range of sparkling and semi-sparkling wines, representing the typicality of the territory. The Rosso fermo complements these labels, with an eye toward France. It is a wine with a classic international approach, made according to Bordeaux traditions and using mainly the most famous grape varieties of this famous French region, for centuries the cradle of great reds and a reference point for world production.
Rosso "Barbian" is the fruit of a winery that has been committed to the enhancement of the hilly Parma area since the Second World War. The Ariola estate spreads over about 70 hectares, with vineyards cultivated at an altitude of 250-300 meters above sea level. The wine comes from an original interpretation of the Emilian lands. It is a blend made with grapes from vines that are not traditionally part of the Lambrusco lands. It is made with Barbera grapes, a variety especially widespread in Piedmont, joined by two grape varieties of Bordeaux origin: Merlot, which gives an elegant, soft and persuasive fruit, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives structure, important tannins, depth and aromatic intensity. The grapes are vinified separately, following the different harvest times. Fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maceration on the skins. The wine matures in wooden barrels, following the classic Bordeaux tradition.
The "Barbian" Rosso Ariola wine is an interesting expression of a great classic, combining territorial custom with a touch of noble French tradition. In the glass, it is dark ruby red in color, with luminous reflections and slight garnet hues, which tend to increase with age. The olfactory picture is particularly broad and rich, with aromas of ripe cherry, black cherry, red plum, dark berry fruits, currant, blueberry, wild blackberry, vanilla, soft spices and nuances of herbs. The palate is intense, wide and soft, warm and enveloping, with ripe fruit marked by sweet hints of jam and a dense, evolved tannic texture. The finish is of good freshness and gustatory persistence.
