Venit's WHite 'Prescelto' is an organic wine from Venezia Giulia, made from PIWI grapes, the resistant vines at the heart of a wine project that looks to the future of sustainability, symbolised on the label by a visionary eye. Straw yellow with greenish highlights, it offers aromas of chamomile, lime, apple and plum. On the palate it is fresh, vital, with a pleasant bitter finish. Excellent with both delicate fish dishes and pasta dishes with light meat sauces, such as a rabbit ragout
The Bianco 'Prescelto' from the Friulian winery Venit is a white wine from PIWI grapes that is striking with its hints of almond and fresh fruit. The line of labels from PIWI grapes proposed by the brothers Elia and Marco, owners of the winery, is recognisable by the silhouette of the eye on the label. This represents the forward-looking and innovative vision of the two brothers, who through the PIWI varieties have bet on a more sustainable future. In fact, these genetic hybrids have been created as a result of countless crosses with the aim of obtaining vines with a remarkable resistance to the main vine diseases and at the same time of high quality interest.
Bianco Venit 'Prescelto' originates from a combination of Soreli and Fleurtai grapes, PIWI varieties cultivated in accordance with the principles of certified organic farming on medium-textured soils tending to clay. Harvesting is done by hand when the grapes have reached the right stage of ripeness and is followed by classic white vinification through soft pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks. The subsequent maturation phase, which takes place on the fine lees, also takes place in steel, containers in which the mass remains for 7 months and is subjected to frequent bâtonnage. After bottling, the wine is left to rest for at least 4 months in glass until final release.
The 'Prescelto' Bianco di Venit has a brilliant straw yellow colour. The olfactory panorama is described by floral hints of chamomile and fruity notes reminiscent of plum, with pleasant hints of lime and thyme that follow anticipating hints of almond and walnut on the finish. The taste is snappy and enveloping at the same time, with a marked freshness resting on the pleasantly bitter finish.
