Adopting a production approach based on sustainability, the young Friulian company Venit produces wines that express the innovative dimension of PIWI vines, varieties selected through numerous genetic crosses in search of an association between quality and disease resistance. These vines therefore allow for a drastic reduction in the use of phytosanitary treatments, with a consequent positive effect on the environment due to the reduced impact of cultivation. The minds and arms behind this beautiful project are Elia and Marco, brothers of Veneto origin who share a strong passion for the world of wine, a passion at the basis of their modern vision that has allowed them to bring a breath of fresh air to the Pordenone area. The two brothers inherited their love of winemaking from their grandfather Lino, who produced wine for self-consumption, and in 2019 they officially gave birth to the winery. The name Venit then refers both to the Venetian origin of Elia and Marco, called friendly 'del venìt' by the locals, and to the Latin term 'vènit', meaning 'he who comes', a perfect expression to describe the bond of adoption between the brothers and Friuli.

The 18 hectares of vineyards owned by the Venit estate fall within the Friuli Grave DOC production area, whose alluvial soil is rich in calcareous-dolomitic deposits, with a layer of compact clay called Caranto. Moreover, the area's microclimate is influenced both by the mountains, which protect the area from cold northern winds, and by the Adriatic Sea, with its mild breezes. Alongside native and international varieties such as Merlot, Carmenere and Pinot Grigio, the estate grows numerous PIWI vines, including Solaris, Soreli, Fleurtai, Sauvignon Rytos, Sauvignon Nepis and Merlot Khorus. Agronomic management is based on the dictates of certified organic farming, while harvesting is carried out by hand with low grape yields per hectare in order to raise the quality of production. Processing takes place mainly in stainless steel tanks, although large oak and small American oak barrels are also used for ageing..

Velit wines made from PIWI varieties are immediately recognisable by the eye silhouette on the label, a representation of the forward-looking vision that guides Elia and Marco's production.
