It is obtained following a cold maceration process, where berries, roots, leaves, citrus, aromatic and medicinal herbs release their aroma, resulting in a concentrate of harmony and envelopment. With great aromatic complexity, it expresses itself with fresh notes of grapefruit and orange, supported by bitter aromas of gentian, olive leaves and artichoke. BITTER MEDITERRANEO GIACOBINI DESCRIPTION

Giacobini's Bitter Mediterraneo - Essenza Mediterranea is a liqueur rich in aromas of balsamic and Mediterranean herbs, produced using, among other ingredients, organically grown citrus fruits. Bitter is a very old tradition that has its roots in the preparation of medicinal elixirs with a characteristic bitter taste. During the 19th century, these bitters also began to be consumed for hedonistic purposes, before finding their consecration in the world of mixology. In fact, there are numerous cocktails that involve the use of a bitter in their preparation, such as the Negroni, the Americano, the Old Fashioned and the Manhattan.

In the production of Giacobini Bitter Mediterraneo - Essenza Mediterranea, 18 different Mediterranean botanicals are used, including gentian, cinchona, olive leaves, artichoke, Calabrian lime, grapefruit, Sicilian red orange PGI, liquorice and hibiscus. All these Mediterranean botanicals, along with organically grown citrus fruits, are processed through a cold extraction process that allows the aromas of the berries, roots, citrus fruits and herbs used to be preserved to the fullest.

To the eye, the Bitter Mediterraneo Essenza Mediterranea - Giacobini is striking for its deep coppery red colour. The nose has fresh notes of citrus fruits and roots, supported by vivid hints of Mediterranean herbs. The taste is velvety, complex and enveloping, with the fresh citrus sensations joining the bitter notes of gentian, olive leaves and artichoke in a harmonious and balanced finish, with a long persistence. This fine bitter can add a touch of the Mediterranean to the most classic cocktails, although it also lends itself to being served with a few ice cubes and some tonic water.
