Bourgogne Rouge 'Cote D'Or' Marchand-Tawse 2021

Marchand-Tawse's Bourgogne Rouge 'Côte d'Or' is made from grapes sourced from various parts of the region, from a now-famous 'negoce' that makes highly accessible, high-level reds. It is partially vinified with whole bunches, a process that accentuates the aromatic development and thus allows the development of great complexity. Hints of red fruits open the scene to hints of underbrush and pleasant iodine hints. On the palate it expresses great aromatic density, a fine tannic texture leading towards the long finish. Ideal with fish such as salmon, but also with a beef carpaccio

BOURGOGNE ROUGE 'COTE D'OR' MARCHAND-TAWSE 2021 DESCRIPTION

Marchand-Tawse's Bourgogne Rouge 'Cote d'Or Pinot Noir' fully reflects the juicy and refined character of Burgundy Pinot Noirs. This label is the result of a combination of grapes from different areas of the region purchased from the prestigious Maison de Négoce Marchand-Tawse, resulting in a complete and balanced wine. In particular, 70% of the grapes come from the Côte de Nuits, home of the region's great Pinot Noirs, and the remaining 30% from the Côte de Beaune.

The 'Cote d'Or Pinot Noir' Marchand-Tawse Bourgogne Rouge is produced from pure Pinot Noir grapes cultivated according to sustainable agronomic practices based on organic farming principles, grown mainly on clay-limestone soils. In the winery, the grapes are vinified whole cluster by means of 5 days of cold skin maceration and subsequent spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in oak barrels, combined with gentle initial punching-down and then periodic pumping-over, in order to obtain a delicate extraction during the 15 days of contact between must and skins. The subsequent ageing phase takes place in oak barrels of several passages for a period of 15 months, followed by final bottling, without prior clarification and filtration.

On visual inspection, the Bourgogne 'Cote d'Or Pinot Noir' Rouge of Marchand-Tawse shows a beautiful, light and luminous ruby red colour. The nose offers intense fruity hints of blackberry and cherry, followed by hints of vanilla and clove, with evocative hints of underbrush on the finish. The palate is deep and intense, of great breadth, with juicy freshness and silky tannic texture accompanying the pleasant notes of red fruits and spices on the finish.
