The Bodegas Fundador Pedro Domecq are the oldest in Jerez. The foundation of Pedro Domecq dates back to 1725 and is located in the village of Machamudo, in a majestic landscape of 800 acres in the center of which stands an ancient castle towards which the vineyards. The crown jewel of the cellars of the Brothers Domecq in Jerez de la Frontera, Carlos I is an old brandy whose official presentation took place in 1927. Aged according to the solera system, or in oak barrels arranged in several rows, one above the brandy which is assembled from year to year, has an extraordinary aromatic complexity. Amber color with golden hues, the bouquet is round and full with at least 12 years of aging in oak barrels, with a capacity not exceeding 350 liters. It is fascinating, powerful and carries with it the aroma of aged wood from the wine of Jerez, broadcast during its long period of maturation. The Carlos I has a bouquet ranging from almonds to the caramel tobacco, while the palate is rich in spicy aromas with hints of vanilla, full and gently dry with a pleasant finish.
