ROSSO PICENO SUPERIORE 'BRECCIAROLO' VELENOSI 2022 DESCRIPTION

Rosso Piceno Superiore "Brecciarolo" Velenosi is a wine with an intense character, in which a perfect gustatory correspondence between nose and taste is noticeable. We are therefore faced with a bottle that is easy to drink, but without renouncing a drink with personality, in which the evolution of the aromas on the nose in the space of a few seconds is striking, capable of changing touching different notes, from the most varietal to tertiary. Montepulciano and Sangiovese combine in a quality cut, which becomes even more fascinating when designed to accompany food on the table on a daily basis.

"Brecciarolo" Rosso Piceno Superiore is made by the Velenosi winery from 70% Montepulciano, to which is added 30% Sangiovese. The vines of these two varieties grow in vineyards located near the towns of Offida and Ascoli Piceno, about 200-300 meters above sea level. We are located in a clayey terroir, which tends to be calcareous. The must ferments in steel containers with a capacity of 200 hectoliters, equipped with a system for pumping over and constant temperature control. Maceration on the skin lasts 20 days. It is then transferred to second-passage barriques, where it rests for 18 months.

This Rosso Piceno Superiore "Brecciarolo" Velenosi announces itself to the eye with a deep and intense ruby colour, crossed by some light reflections tending more toward garnet in the rim. The nose moves on a track of concentrated notes, where the pulp of red fruits mixes with spicy scents and hints of fresh violets. In the mouth, it enters with a firm structure endowed with excellent persistence and a warm, balanced sip. A label that, given its more than advantageous price and the accolades it has won over the years, is a serious candidate for a red for everyday consumption. Try it and see if you can do without it!

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can easily leave it in your cellar for 2-3 years
