BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 'MADONNA DELLE GRAZIE' IL MARRONETO 2019 DESCRIPTION

Brunello di Montalcino Selezione 'Madonna delle Grazie' is the flagship wine of the Il Marroneto winery, one of the most highly rated in the famous Tuscan appellation. It is a single vineyard of rare elegance and complexity, representing the perfect synthesis of a parcel with unique pedoclimatic characteristics, grapes of exceptional quality and a vinification and ageing process carried out with extreme delicacy, respecting the best traditions of the territory. It is only thanks to the sum of these components that one of the most sought-after labels by connoisseurs of Montalcino wines, and more generally of Sangiovese, is born. The cool climate and vocated soils of this hill, now legendary in the universe of great reds, are the basis of a production considered at the top of the national panorama.

"Madonna delle Grazie" is a Brunello di Montalcino Selezione that brings to the glass the experience and profound knowledge of the territory of an important Ilcinese winery. The Il Marroneto estate is located in the northern area of Montalcino, which has always been known for the finesse of its wines and in the last decade even more appreciated for being characterised by a cool climate, which better counteracts the consequences of the current climate change. Most of the vineyard was planted between 1975 and 1979, with an addition dating back to 1984, and is located at an altitude of between 350 and 400 metres. The soils, characterised by the presence of sand, and the good temperature fluctuations on the northern side of the hill, guarantee the production of excellent grapes. At the end of the harvest, the best grapes are sent to fermentation, which takes place in oak vats, with maceration on the skins for about three weeks. In accordance with the regulations, the wine is aged for about 40 months in traditional 25-hectolitre oak casks and completes its refinement with 10 months in the bottle.

The Brunello di Montalcino Selezione "Madonna delle Grazie" wine from Il Marroneto offers a high level taste experience. It expresses with refinement the varietal characteristics of a Sangiovese grown in what is unanimously considered its terroir of choice. To the eye, it has a luminous garnet colour. The olfactory profile opens on balsamic and officinal herb sensations, aromas of redcurrants, morello cherries, hints of delicate spices, liquorice and undergrowth. The fine tannic texture blends with a complex and persistent aromatic palette, giving a long and very fresh finish.
