Cerbaiona's Brunello di Montalcino represents one of the highest expressions achieved by Sangiovese in the hills surrounding the famous municipality of Montalcino. Cerbaiona is a small company that extends over about three hectares of land and has always been distinguished by the constant quality of its products. Proof of this is provided by this Brunello, a rather exclusive red wine, with a production of just under ten thousand bottles each harvest. Intriguing in its aromas, it is remembered for its powerful body, of great and natural expressiveness, and for its capacity to evolve over the years, a characteristic that makes it a label particularly suited to ageing.
The Brunello di Montalcino Cerbaiona wine comes from a careful selection of Sangiovese grapes, cultivated on fine soils rich in marl and sand, at an altitude of about 400 metres above sea level. The bunches, rigorously hand-picked, ferment spontaneously in vitrified cement tanks using indigenous yeasts, then slowly age for a good three years in Slavonian oak barrels, and then, after bottling, for a further year in glass. This meticulous production gives rise to one of the most representative and renowned Brunellos of the entire Denomination.
The Brunello di Montalcino of the Cerbaiona winery manifests itself in the glass with an intense garnet red colour. The nose reveals complex and layered aromas, with notes that recall red fruit, aromas of underbrush and nuances of sweet spices. On the palate it manifests its power and elegance, supported by a good freshness and a dense tannic texture. It is ideal to be consumed with the great meat and game dishes typical of the local tradition. An indelible sip of Tuscany.
