BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 'LUCE' LUCE DELLA VITE - FRESCOBALDI 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Brunello di Montalcino "Luce" from Luce della Vite by Frescobaldi is an elegant, intense, and complex red wine, representing one of the most prestigious labels from the renowned Tuscan estate. Brunello di Montalcino, globally appreciated for its consistently excellent quality, is one of our oenological heritage's most important red wines. It is produced with Sangiovese Grosso grapes and matures for 24 months in wood before completing an extended bottle ageing period.

The "Luce" Brunello di Montalcino from the historic Frescobaldi brand is crafted in the vineyards of the Luce della Vite estate. An estate spanning 88 hectares, with 11 dedicated to Brunello production. The vineyards are located southwest of the ancient village of Montalcino, at an altitude ranging from 200 to 430 meters above sea level, in an area still characterized by pristine nature and significant environmental biodiversity. The name "Luce" is inspired by the characteristics of the sunny territory, facing towards the Tuscan coast, the more Mediterranean and mild slope of Montalcino, caressed by breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The soil composition varies with altitude, featuring clay in the lower parts, yellow sands and sandstone in the middle, and sands and schists higher up. After harvest, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 12 days, with a 4-week skin maceration. The wine then matures in barriques, with 10% being new and the rest second passage, as well as in Slavonian oak barrels, for 24 months, concluding its refinement in the bottle.

The "Luce" by Frescobaldi is a Brunello di Montalcino with a sunny profile, aromatically rich and mature, born from a territory characterized by a continental climate with almost Mediterranean influences. In the glass, it presents an impenetrable garnet red colour. On the nose, it expresses a refined and elegant bouquet with floral scents, cherry aromas, red berry fruits, blond tobacco, chocolate, spices, and medicinal herbs. It has a good structure on the palate, with complex and deep flavours, a lively and dense tannic texture, and a persistent finish with refreshing notes.
