Brunello di Montalcino Tenute Silvio Nardi 2017

The Brunello di Montalcino Tenute Silvio Nardi is a rich and enveloping red wine, patiently and carefully aged for 12 months in French roevere barriques and another 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Full-bodied, intense and persistent on the palate, characterized by soft tannins, the nose expresses notes of berries, cherries and scents of vanilla and tobacco due to the months spent in wood. BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO TENUTE SILVIO NARDI 2017 DESCRIPTION

Brunello di Montalcino Tenute Silvio Nardi is a Sangiovese with a warm and full soul, the result of a blend of the different estate vineyards. In fact, the desire behind this wine is to find a balance between the expressions of the different plots present in the blend, so that each manages to manifest its own qualities without ever prevailing over the others. This is the philosophy that has always guided the Nardi family, whose property extends over two different estates and slopes: Casale del Bosco to the west and Manachiara to the east, endowed with very heterogeneous microclimates and soils.

Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino is a 100 percent Sangiovese Grosso whose grapes come from several vineyards in the commune of Montalcino, generally characterized by soils rich in jaspers and clay schists. Exposure varies from northwest to southeast while the average altitude is around 350 meters above sea level. Following the manual harvesting of the bunches of grapes, carried out during the second half of September, red vinification takes place through alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with at least 20 days of maceration on the skins. The subsequent aging phase takes place in second-passage Allier oak barriques for the first 12 months and in large Slavonian oak barrels for the next 12 months. Finally, after at least 6 more months of resting in bottle, the wine is ready for release.

Tenute Silvio Nardi's Brunello di Montalcino is deep ruby red in color with garnet highlights. The nose expresses clean, elegant and complex scents of ripe berries, anise and vanilla meeting ethereal hints. Warm and soft sip, with excellent structure, well-integrated tannins and good flavor persistence.
