BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 'TENUTA NUOVA' MAGNUM CASANOVA DI NERI 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Brunello di Montalcino of the Casanova di Neri winery, offered in the prestigious Magnum version, represents the classic style and unmistakable signature of one of the most prestigious realities of this extraordinary terroir of Tuscany, famous throughout the world for the quality of its elegant, intense and long-lived wines. The large-format bottle encourages a slower evolution, guaranteeing an excellent fruity fragrance, combined with the refined evolutionary notes typical of Brunello. A great bottle to enjoy among enthusiasts during a special evening.

Brunello di Montalcino Magnum Casanova di Neri wine represents the synthesis of this famous winery, which is based in the northeastern area of the legendary Montalcino hill. It is an assemblage wine, which is made from a selection of grapes from the 7 estate vineyards located in different areas of the Ilcinese territory: Fiesole, Podernovo, Cerretalto, Collalli, Giovanni Neri, Pietradonice and Cetine, each with different exposure, altitude and soil composition. Precisely because of this complementary variability, each year, the winery produces a great wine capable of reflecting the vintage and authentic character of the terroir. Manual harvesting takes place in early October. After the manual selection of the clusters and subsequent sorting with an optical selector, the grapes ferment in steel vats with several weeks' maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 42 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, ending the ageing period with 6 months in the bottle.

Neri's Brunello di Montalcino Magnum Casanova is a great red, bringing out the best qualities of Sangiovese Grosso and terroir. Already pleasant to taste right away, it will reach full expressive maturity only after a few years of bottle ageing. A beautiful bright, vibrant ruby red with light garnet-coloured highlights, it seduces the nose with an elegant bouquet reminiscent of notes of morello cherry, red currant, orange peel, ripe cherry, delicate spices, herbs, hints of leather, underbrush and blond tobacco. The entry on the palate is smooth and fragrant, with a dense tannic texture but well integrated with the body of the wine, which relaxes into a deep, complex and harmonious sip. The finish is fresh, savoury and very persistent.
