Cabernet Sauvignon 'Solo' Podere Ranieri 2018 is a Tuscan red wine with a smooth, enveloping sip, produced in the heart of Maremma, where this grape variety of French origin has found a second home. Juicy, warm and fragrant, this wine pairs perfectly with cheese and charcuterie boards or red meat dishes
The 'Solo' Cabernet Sauvignon Podere Ranieri strikes for its intensely balsamic and spicy aromatic profile that reflects the characteristics of the grape variety and the Maremma terroir. Among international varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon is the one that has shown the best adaptation to the Maremma Toscana area, where it turns out to be the second most widespread black grape variety after Sangiovese. Podere Ranieri's 'Solo' line aims to enhance the attributes of the different grape varieties, including precisely Cabernet Sauvignon, by vinifying them in purity.
The Cabernet Sauvignon 'Solo' from the Tuscan winery Podere Ranieri is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from vines planted within the municipality of Massa Marittima on silty and sandy soils, also rich in clay and skeleton. The rows are 60 meters above sea level and are organically farmed. In the winery, freshly hand-harvested bunches are melded in stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation, combined with a few weeks of contact between the must and skins. Once the fermentation process is complete, the mass is transferred to 3-hectoliter wooden tonneaux for aging for 12 months, followed by an additional year of bottle aging.
In the glass, Podere Ranieri Cabernet Sauvignon 'Solo' shows an intense dark ruby red hue. The olfactory range consists of vivid aromas of berries such as blackberry, morello cherry and blueberry, enhanced by evocative balsamic and spicy hints reminiscent of eucalyptus, basil, pepper and nutmeg. Intense and pulpy on the palate, where the enveloping softness is well balanced by the fresh-savory component and ripe tannins. Very long closure that insists on the sensations felt on the nose.
