Cala N.1 by Tinedo winery is a fruity and juicy red wine, characterized by a good aromatic substance, vinified in steel tanks and aged in concrete vats. Clean and expressive scents of cherries, strawberries and wild berries invite to a rich and smooth taste, with lively tannins on the finish
Cala N.1 is a very fruity organic red wine produced in the Spanish region of La Mancha by the Tinedo Bodega y Viñedo winery, entirely run by the Alvarez-Arenas family. With a centuries-old tradition dating back to 1742, this winemaking family cultivates its vineyards with great environmental sensitivity, adopting the principles of organic agriculture and using only natural preparations to fertilise the soil.
Tinedo's Cala N.1 is the fruit of red grapes from the area of Ciudad Real, in the heart of the La Mancha region, at an altitude of approximately 700 metres. For its production, the Tempranillo variety is used, the most widespread red grape in the area, combined with international varieties such as Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The producers choose to enhance the primary aromas of this combination of grapes, avoiding any alteration caused by contact with wood. This is why the monsters ferment in steel, with malolactic fermentation and maturation for 12 months in traditional 100 hl cement tanks. The significant maceration on the skins, divided into three phases, i.e. cold pre-fermentation of 3 days, fermentation of 7 and post-fermentation of a further 7, contributes to the consistency and solidity of this Spanish expression.
Tinedo Cala N.1 stands out for its clear and expressive aromatic profile, rich in fruity hints. It has a deep purple colour and scents of ripe cherries and strawberries, wild berries, red flowers and delicate undergrowth spices. The sip is very juicy, enveloping, pleasant and invigorating. The lively tannins make the drink dry on the finish, contributing significantly to this label's pleasantness and great gastronomic vocation.
