CANNONAU ROSATO 'MARINU' BERRITTA DORGALI 2023 DESCRIPTION

With its vivid character reminiscent of the sea, the Cannonau di Sardegna Rosato 'Marinu' from the Berritta organic winery in Dorgali is able to captivate from the first taste. Antonio Berritta, the founder and soul of the winery that bears his surname, mainly raises Cannonau, an indigenous grape variety that the estate processes in different types and styles, including this delicious rosé wine ideal for cooling down during hot summer evenings. Antonio, who officially founded the winery in 2007, taking up the family's long agricultural tradition, manages around 13 hectares of vineyards in a sustainable and traditional way.

Berritta Dorgali's 'Marinu' Cannonau di Sardegna Rosato is a pure Cannonau from vines about 40 years old grown according to certified organic farming principles. The vines are located at an altitude of 180 metres and are rooted in draining soils originating from granite disintegration. The grapes are usually harvested by hand in the first ten days of September, followed by vinification into rosé wine through 6-12 hours of pellicular maceration, at the end of which a soft pressing is carried out. After a short static decantation, the must ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C for about 20 days. The wine then matures for 6-8 months, again in stainless steel, and after a further brief rest in the bottle, it is ready for release.

Berritta Cannonau di Sardegna Rosato 'Marinu' has an intense and lively cherry-pink hue. The nose offers fruity and floral sensations of cherry, redcurrant, pomegranate and rose petals, with mineral notes and Mediterranean scrub in the background. The palate is characterised by crisp freshness and delicate minerality, attributes that make for a smooth and drinkable progression.
