Villa Sandi's Cartizze Brut "La Rivetta" represents the jewel in the crown of the Veneto winery's production, the Valdobbiadene label of greatest prestige and value. It is the purest and most crystalline expression of the famous Cartizze hill, a real cru that has always been known for the extraordinary aromatic concentration of its grapes. The choice of the Brut dosage further enhances the quality of a raw material of great expressive richness, offering an intense, long sip with great taste balance.
Villa Sandi's Brut "La Rivetta" was born of the desire to produce a great sparkling wine that would showcase the best characteristics of the Cartizze terroir. The famous hill of just 106 hectares, between the hamlets of Santo Stefano and S. Pietro di Barbozza in Valdobbiadene, represents the apex of the quality pyramid for this sparkling wine. The mild microclimate, always ventilated, and the soils composed of valuable calcareous sandstone and clay, constitute the precious treasure of this small terroir. The grapes come only from the Rivetta vineyard and, thanks to the good exposure and the considerable temperature excursions between day and night, have a particularly rich aromatic profile. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a soft pressing to extract only the free-run juice. Fermentation then takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The base wines mature for a few months in steel and are then placed in autoclaves for prise de mousse and second fermentation according to the Martinotti Method.
"Villa Sandi's 'La Rivetta' is one of the finest wines from the Valdobbiadene area. Careful selection of the best grapes grown on the famous Cartizze hill and vinification in pursuit of the highest quality make it a label for true lovers of the best Prosecco. In the glass it is straw yellow in colour with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose opens on delicate notes of white flowers, aromas of apple, citrus fruits and soft hints of exotic fruit. On the palate, it has a vibrant attack and then relaxes towards a juicy centre of the mouth and a fresh, savoury and mineral finish.
