Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Gaiospino" was born in Staffolo in the province of Ancona, a land with a vocation for the production of white wines of excellent quality. The winery took its first steps in 1981 thanks to the passion and expertise of Lucio and his wife, Fiorella. Their goal has always been to operate with respect for nature around the vineyards in order to make authentic and healthy grapes. Over time, the business has earned its name as a point of reference for Verdicchio lovers, thanks in part to the decision to work in the vineyard following the dictates of organic farming first and biodynamic farming later.
The vineyards of Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Gaiospino" are located at an altitude of between 250 and 400 meters above sea level and extend over approximately 9.5 hectares of vine-covered land, which are vocated for the production of this grape variety, since the soil is rich in marly stone and limestone for a final product with a strong character. The yield in the vineyard is deliberately kept low to ensure the impeccable quality of the wines and not particularly stress the plants, respecting the natural phases of growth and development. The grapes are harvested by hand, and in the cellar, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in steel for about 2-4 weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation. It is aged on fine lees in wood for 18 months.
To the eye, Fattoria Coroncino's Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Gaiospino" is an intense straw yellow with brilliant reflections; the bouquet of aromas recalls hints of citrus and ripe apple in union with mineral notes and toasted nuts. On the palate, it is delicate, enveloping and elegant, with a good structure that entices drinking glass after glass. In pairing, it is recommended with grilled fish dishes, lightly fried foods, shellfish and crustaceans; also interesting with seasonal vegetable dishes and fresh cow's milk cheeses. Ideal for the Christmas Eve table with low-fat dishes or for cheerful dinners by the sea in summer to enjoy an authentic and traditional product.
