CERASUOLO D'ABRUZZO 'ROSA-AE' TORRE DEI BEATI 2023 DESCRIPTION

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo "Rosa-ae" is the pink declination of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grape variety presented by Torre dei Beati winery. A reality of reference in the panorama of Pescara, located in the small and famous enclave of Loreto Aprutino, which every year proposes wines of extreme quality and great territorial adherence, produced according to the most ancient tradition of the place marked by the enhancement of local grape varieties. We are located in one of the most important and ancient municipalities of Abruzzo, where the rolling hills meet the peaks of the Apennines and the coast of the Adriatic Sea. A picture of romantic colours, just like this gentle and graceful version, dressed in pink, made with the aim of enhancing the fragrance and delicacy of the scents and flavours of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grape variety, paying homage to its great flexibility and ability to present itself in different styles. And then there is the name "Rosa-ae," which recalls the fresh rosehip notes that characterize the bouquet of this rosé with a feminine face.

"Rosa-ae" Cerasuolo comes from a number of Montepulciano vineyards planted in 1972 and 1995 at about 250 meters above sea level, caressed year-round by sea breezes and winds that drift in from mountain areas. The vines, raised according to organic farming principles and using the Abruzzi pergola and spurred cordon planting system, sink their roots into clay-limestone soil. In the winery, this rosé is made half by the technique of red bloodletting after a brief cold pre-maceration and half by direct pressing of the unstemmed grapes. Vinification takes place exclusively in temperature-controlled steel, and maturation takes place for 6 months, also in steel containers.

Torre dei Beati's Rosato "Rosa-ae" captivates already at sight of the intense cherry-pink colour of the coat, illuminated by violet flashes. On the nose, a very fresh olfactory array emerges that recalls floral fragrances (rose above all), the juiciness of red forest berries, the fruity notes of pomegranate and the luscious hints of wild strawberry. On the palate, despite its soft and fine texture, it shows good richness and a juicy, light and thirst-quenching mouthfeel, marked by an invigorating freshness and a pleasant mineral-saline trail. It also demonstrates great pairing ability with Adriatic fish dishes, white meats, fresh cheeses, pizza and vegetable dishes.
