The Chambave Muscat produced by La Crotta di Vegneron is one of the most important and representative labels in the line of Territorial wines of the Aosta Valley winery. It is a range of bottles dedicated to native or international grape varieties, which are part of the history of the territory and, in this area, express themselves with extraordinary intensity and elegance. The vocated soils and favourable climate make it possible to obtain a white wine of great finesse with rich and elegant aromas. It is a perfect wine to enjoy with a board of fresh cheeses from the area, with fish appetizers or seafood first courses.
Muscat Chambave is one of the most famous whites from La Crotta di Vegneron, a small cooperative made up of winemakers from Valle d'Aosta who have joined forces to showcase the excellence of their terroir. The Moscato Bianco grapes come from a selection of parcels located in Chambave, Saint Denis, Châtillon and Verrayes. The vines are cultivated at an altitude between 450 and 750 metres on steep slopes facing southeast, southwest and northeast. The soils are of morainic origin, rich in sand and gravel, and the climate is cool, with significant temperature swings between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Harvests take place between late September and early October. The clusters undergo cold maceration, then soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 12-16 °C. The wine is then aged in steel tanks for five months on fine lees with periodic bâtonnage.
Vegneron's white Chambave Muscat La Crotta is a splendid territorial interpretation of this ancient variety, widespread in all the countries bordering the Mediterranean and also in many regions of central Europe. Bright straw yellow in colour, it presents an intense and seductive bouquet, which captivates with scents of acacia and orange blossom, hints of citrus peel, aromas of white peach, apple, yellow-skinned melon, nuances of sage and herbs. On the palate, it expresses the typical aromaticity of the grape variety, with a soft and harmonious mouthfeel, a juicy and ripe fruit, anticipating a savoury finish of lively freshness.
