Chambolle-Musigny "Les Cras" is a majestic and important Pinot Noir Premier Cru from the Côte de Nuits, capable of defying time and offering unforgettable tastes even after decades of aging. A true Burgundy champion, endowed with structure, power, and elegance, enclosed in a harmonious body and very long persistence, with notes of violets, raspberries, currants, earth, and toasted hints
Domaine Méo Camuzet's Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru "Les Cras" originates in the communal territory of this famous Côte de Nuits hamlet, which lies between Morey-Saint-Denis and Vougeot, in one of the most vocated areas for growing Pinot Noir. Within its borders, there are as many as 24 Climats classified as Premier Cru and the two Grand Crus of Musigny and Bonnes-Mares. The domaine has always been committed to enhancing this wonderful terroir with wines that bring out its natural elegance and all its delicate nuances.
The Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny "Les Cras" comes from an estate owned by a historic family in the area, which has dedicated itself to viticulture in the beautiful lands of Burgundy for more than four centuries. Domaine Méo Camuzet manages the estate in harmony with the environmental context and with low yields per plant, so as to always obtain concentrated grapes of excellent quality. The Chambolle-Musigny area is characterized by beautiful east-facing exposures at an altitude of 250 to 300 meters and by soils of limestone matrix, which have increasing percentages of clay as they descend toward the valley floor. Harvesting is done by hand at full phenolic maturity, and the grapes are destemmed and sent to temperature-controlled fermentation. Aging takes place for about a year in French oak barrels, partly new and partly second-passage.
"Les Cras" Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, produced by Domaine Méo Camuzet, perfectly interprets the refined and elegant character of the Appellation's wines, which have always been considered among the most delicate and harmonious of the entire Côte de Nuits. In the goblet, it is bright ruby red in color. The olfactory profile is fine and floral, with scents of violet, aromas of raspberry, red currant, hints of underbrush, humus, soft spicy and herbal nuances. The palate is medium-bodied, with ripe and complex, rich and persuasive aromas, dressed in a very fine tannic texture. The finish is balanced, fresh and persistent. It is a good aging red, able to give pleasant surprises even after several years in the bottle.
