CHAMPAGNE BRUT PREMIER CRU MICHEL ROCOURT DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Brut 1er Cru from the Récoltant Manipulant Michel Rocourt is a pure Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs that impresses with its taut mineral tone. Situated in Le-Mesnil-sur-Oger, a prestigious Grand Cru village on the Côte des Blancs, the Michel Rocourt sparkling wine house works exclusively with local Chardonnay grapes, cultivated using sustainable agronomic practices, as evidenced by the 'Haute Valeur Environnementale' certification. All of the winery's Champagnes are therefore Blanc de Blancs of the highest quality.

Michel Rocourt Champagne 1er Cru Brut originates from only Chardonnay grapes from two separate vintages. The vineyards are located within the village of Vertus, classified as Premier Cru, planted on soils characterised by a chalky subsoil. Following the harvest, the grapes are subjected to direct soft pressing, with the must thus obtained undergoing alcoholic fermentation and subsequent complete malolactic fermentation. The vintage wine is combined with 25% vin de reserve from the previous harvest, and the cuvée is then bottled with the addition of the liqueur de tirage for the Champenoise method. After at least 18 months of maturation sur lattes, the wine is finally degorgement and subsequent dosage to Brut, with 9 g/l of residual sugar.

Champagne Michel Rocourt Brut 1er Cru has a straw yellow colour with a very fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet opens on pleasant notes of citrus, green apple and white-fleshed fruit, combined with hints of grass and small pastries. Elegant and vertical on the palate, with great freshness and tension, characterised by mineral and salty sensations that define the persistent finish, well balanced by skilful dosage.
