CHAMPAGNE BRUT BLANC DE BLANCS POL ROGER 2015 DESCRIPTION

The Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Pol Roger is one of the finest of this historic House of Épernay. It is a cuvée prestige made to enhance the refined elegance of grapes sourced only from plots located in the communal territories of the most celebrated Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs. The rigorous selection of the grapes and a long aging on the lees give a Champagne with a rich, complex and mature personality that highlights the best aromatic evolutionary characteristics of Chardonnay. Precisely because of its structure and depth, it is a wine with a precise gastronomic vocation, to be enjoyed with a seafood menu or with noble poultry or delicate white meats.

Blanc de Blancs is a Brut Champagne that perfectly represents the elegant and refined style of one of the most quoted Maisons. Since the mid-19th century, Pol Roger has been producing great wines that are among the elite of the Appellation's best labels, thanks to high-quality vineyards and centuries-old savoir-faire. The Champagne is the fruit of a careful selection of fine Chardonnay vines grown in the Grand Cru Côte des Blancs of Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger et Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. At the end of manual harvesting, the best clusters are gently pressed. Fermentations take place separately for each parcel in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18°C. The vins clairs are aged for several months while also carrying out malolactic fermentation before being blended. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with a six-year rest on the lees inside the Maison's caves at a depth of more than 30 meters. Remouage is carried out by hand in the traditional way, before final dégorgement.

Maison Pol Roger's Brut Blanc de Blancs is a Champagne produced in limited quantities, to keep the level of a high-end cuvée always high, intended for great fans of this brand of excellence and the finest connoisseurs of great Chardonnays. To the eye it has a bright and brilliant golden color, crossed by a very fine, delicate and continuous perlage. The bouquet is rich and elegant, with floral scents, hints of candied citrus peel, aromas of ripe white-fleshed fruit, soft sensations of small pastries, dried fruit and roasted roasting nuances. Broad and creamy, it has a suave palate entry with remarkable aromatic complexity, well balanced by a saline streak and a very fresh and persistent finish.
