CHAMPAGNE BRUT NATURE GRAND CRU VERZENAY MARGUET 2018 DESCRIPTION

In the renowned region of Montagne de Reims in northern France, one of the most refined Blanc de Noirs is born: the Champagne Brut Nature Grand Cru Verzenay by Marguet. This prestigious wine is the result of impeccable work carried out in the Pinot Noir vineyards in Verzenay by Maison Marguet, a winery with roots dating back to the late 1800s. What distinguishes this maison is its dedication to natural viticulture, with organic certification, evidenced by 8 hectares of vineyards located between Ambonnay and Bouzy. Here, the Verzenay Grand Cru is cultivated and vinified with extreme care, offering connoisseurs a unique experience, rich in character and terroir.

Benoit Marguet, guardian of this tradition, implements truly unique soil processing techniques, including horses in the process that, by working and stirring the soil, contribute to the ecological balance of the territory. This allows for a direct connection to the land and promotes the growth of vineyard biodiversity in a completely natural way. Regarding vinification, each parcel is vinified separately in wood, a choice that emphasizes the desire to express the specificities of the terroir to the fullest. After 9 months of aging in Bordeaux barrels and oak vats of various sizes, the wine rests in the bottle for 4 years on its own lees. This artisanal process gives the Verzenay Grand Cru a unique and unmistakable character, symbolizing French oenological excellence.

At the time of tasting, the Champagne Brut Nature Grand Cru Verzenay Marguet presents itself with an elegant straw yellow hue and a fine perlage that highlights its sophistication. The aromas are intense and complex, with notes of small red fruits, cherry, and raspberry, enriched by hints of porcini mushrooms and tobacco. On the palate, the wine reveals a pleasant mineral salinity, supported by a medium structure and a complex, rounded taste. Perfect for special occasions or to accompany refined dishes, this Champagne expresses the very essence of luxury and tradition, offering an unforgettable sensory experience to anyone who tastes it.
