Benoit Lahaye's Champagne Brut Nature is a fine and elegant bubbly, born in the heart of Champagne. It is made from unfiltered base wines, 40% of which are reserve wines, giving it considerable complexity. The nose reveals complexes of fresh yellow fruit, hints of iodine and toasted sensations of dried fruit. In the mouth, it fully presents its intensely fruity nature, with lots of finesse and a vibrant sip. A great wine that fully expresses the elegance of its terroir
The Champagne Brut Nature Grand Cru from biodynamic vigneron Benoît Lahaye represents anelegant, taut and mineral expression of the Montagne de Reims terroir, particularly the villages of Ambonnay and Bouzy. Benoît Lahaye is a Récoltant Manipulant working in the village of Bouzy, where he officially embarked on his oenological adventure in 1993 after taking charge of the family vineyards. Soon after, Benoît began his conversion to organic farming, which was followed by biodynamic farming, both of which culminated in their respective certifications. Today, the labels signed Benoît Lahaye are rightfully among the cult artisanal Champagnes.
Benoît Lahaye Champagne Grand Cru Brut Nature consists of a blend of Pinot Noir (90%) and Chardonnay (10%) grapes from the Grand Cru villages of Bouzy and Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims. These are approximately 35-year-old vines, planted on chalk-rich soils and cultivated under certified organic and biodynamic methods. The sparkling wine base resulting from the combination of three different vintages, with approximately 40% vin de reserve, undergoes re-fermentation in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method. Maturation on the lees lasts for approximately 45 months, at the end of which degorgement is carried out, without subsequent dosage.
Champagne Benoît Lahaye Grand Cru Brut Nature presents an intense straw yellow hue with fine perlage. The refined aromatic range opens on captivating notes of peach and lemon peel, followed by hints of jasmine, potpourri and toasted nuts, all supported by a strong mineral timbre. The taste reveals good structure and marked savouriness, with a dry, clean, almost nervous progression that rests on a persistent chalky mineral finish.
