Brut Royal Réserve is one of the flagship Champagnes of the prestigious Philipponat maison, aged on the lees for 36 months. Floral and lightly toasted hints emerge on the nose, with notes of citrus and honey. The sip is harmonious, ample and structured, with pleasant freshness. A great Champagne, especially in the Magnum version!
The Champagne Magnum Brut Royale Réserve is the great classic of the Maison Philipponat, the bubble that embodies style and prestige to perfection. As its name "Royale Réserve" suggests, it is a tribute to the ancient traditions of the Philipponnat family, formerly vineyard owners, merchants and winemakers, and one of the main suppliers to Louis XIV and the magistrates of the city of Ay. A Champagne once appreciated by the most prestigious courts of Europe.
Champagne Brut Royale Réserve is made from grapes from the best vineyards of the Grand and Premier Cru in the heart of Champagne. This traditional blend is mostly Pinot Noir (65%) to which is added Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (5%). The structure of this Champagne is determined by the addition to the cuvée of at least 20% reserve wines, carefully kept in chalk cellars and managed using the Solera method, which involves ageing in wooden barrels for several years. Once bottled, the wine re-ferments in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method and then rests on the lees for about three years. Only this long resting period will allow this bubbly to release evolved and mature scents on the nose, combined with a masterful and powerful structure on the palate.
The Champagne Royale Brut Réserve from the historic and prestigious maison Philipponnat is distinguished by its impeccable balance between structure, persistence and vinosity. It presents itself in a brilliant golden guise with amber reflections, made even more elegant by a fine-grained and persistent mousse. The nose exudes floral and lightly toasted scents, together with nuances of red fruits, citrus and honey. The sip is delicately vinous, ample and structured, with fruity aromas and a long finish that unleashes light notes of biscuit and fragrant bread. A champagne of the highest level, which the long ageing has made a masterpiece and which in the Magnum version will guarantee a truly important longevity.
