CHAMPAGNE ROSÉ BRUT CHRISTIANE GUILLAUMÉE DESCRIPTION

Christiane Guillaumée's Champagne Rosé is one of the best interpretations of this small, female-led maison. The terroir is that of the Cote des Bars, in the southernmost area of the appellation. The soil and climate characteristics are ideal and favorable for high quality production: clay and limestone soil, cold temperatures, weak insolation and low rainfall. The characteristics of the terroir and the winemaker's experience are the two determining factors in creating cuvées that stand out for their elegance and precision, marked by energy and vertical tension.

Guillaumée's Brut Rosé is a Champagne made from only Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Aube area on clay and limestone soils with a south and southwest exposure. In keeping with the house's style, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel and malolactic fermentation is also completed. A short maceration on the skins is responsible for the fascinating bright salmon pink color. The cuvée is prepared with the addition of 30 percent reserve wine, which complements the results of the current vintage, making the production homogeneous with each vintage. In keeping with the traditional Champenoise Method, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle, with subsequent resting on the lees for a period of about 24 months. Disgorgement, generous dosage addition and a short rest in the bottle complete the production process.

Champagne Guillaumée Rosé reveals a great elegance based on freshness and minerality. Indeed, this expression of the Cote des Bars does not linger on the softness of the fruit and sugars, favoring in fact a soaring character and an energetic sip. Its aromas are floral and fruity, supported by a fragrance of bread crust and a light hint of brioche. The taste is fresh, brisk, savory and elegant, enlivened by a fine perlage that reveals excellent workmanship.
