CHAMPAGNE BRUT BLANC DE NOIRS GRAND CRU VIEILLES VIGNES 'LES CRAYÈRES' EGLY OURIET DESCRIPTION

Egly-Ouriet's Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes "Les Crayères" is an elegant, intense and deep Champagne, made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from a particularly prized parcel of land planted with old vines. This is a high-end label dedicated to those who prefer Champagnes with a structure to be enjoyed at the table throughout the meal. The wine's crisp mineral profile and refined fruity aromas of Pinot Noir are made all the more seductive by the long ageing on the lees, which contributes to a harmonious, complex and particularly long sip.

"Les Crayères" Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is a Brut Champagne made by a small Maison in the Montagne de Reims area, which has carved out a prestigious place for itself among fans of great Champagnes. The estate manages about 11 hectares of its own vineyards, almost all in Grand Cru of particular value, which is located within the communes of: Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay, legendary names in Champagne. The Blanc de Noir comes from grapes from an old Pinot Noir vineyard, planted as far back as 1946, in an area with special characteristics, with about thirty centimetres of soil and a subsoil of deep chalky stratifications. High-quality grapes, produced with low yields, make it possible to obtain a label with a strong personality, which faithfully reflects the terroir of origin, bringing all its peculiarities into the glass.

Vieilles Vignes "Les Crayères" is a Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru from Egly-Ouriet, which best represents the face of this family-owned Maison. Pinot Noir is, in fact, by far the most widely grown grape on the estate, and the label highlights an expression of its absolute excellence. After fermentation is complete, the base wines are blended, and the cuvée re-ferments in the bottle according to the Champenoise method, with a period on the lattes of at least 50 months before dégorgement. The colour is an old gold yellow with slight auburn highlights, traversed by a delicate and very persistent perlage. The nose opens on aromas of citrus peel, dried fruit, small berries, delicate spices, hints of bread crust and hints of iodine. The sip is intense and complex, with an extraordinary depth of flavour supported by a decent mineral vein. The finish closes on savoury notes and vibrant freshness.
