The Champagne “Yellow Label” is the main label of Veuve Clicquot, an universal symbol of Champagne all over the world. It is born from a cuvée mainly composed from Pinot Noir using an high percentage of reserve wine. It expresses the style of the maison: delicate scents of vanilla and yellow fruits and a fresh, dry and elegant taste, with mineral and toasted hints
The Yellow Label, known in France as Carte Jaune, is the most famous and representative label of the historic and prestigious Champagne house Veuve Clicquot, founded in 1772 and inextricably linked to the personality of the Grande Dame Clicquot Ponsardin. She was the inventor, in the early 1800s, of the riddling table (pupitre), vintage Champagne, and blended rosé. This label was first produced in 1877, and since then, the yellow color, classified as Pantone 137 C, has become a distinctive mark and a great symbol of Champagne.
The Brut “Yellow Label” perfectly embodies the style of the maison, characterized by elegance, energy, and vivacity. This style is tied to the predominance of Pinot Noir in the cuvée composition, the use of high percentages of reserve wines, vinification in steel tanks with malolactic fermentation, and aging for at least 30 months on the lees in bottles in the vast cellars carved into the chalk around Reims. All of this allows it to perfectly embody the ideal of Champagne, which is why it is known and appreciated worldwide and has become very popular in Italy.
Veuve Clicquot's “Yellow Label” Champagne has a personality that allows it to be appreciated by the general public, yet it retains distinctive characteristics that enchant enthusiasts and the most experienced tasters. It presents a golden appearance adorned with fine bubbles. The bouquet ranges from citrus and yellow fruit to more rounded and enveloping notes of vanilla and hazelnut, with mineral and delicately toasted nuances. The palate is consistent with the nose: delicate, lively, spirited, fresh, and dry. It is the ideal Champagne to enliven festive and convivial moments, elegantly and impeccably accompanying aperitifs or appetizers based on fish or vegetables, but also for being enjoyed at the end of dinner, toasting to the health of those present or exchanging good wishes.
