Chardonnay 'Caliz' Kurtatsch 2024

Kurtatsch's Chardonnay 'Caliz' is a tribute to the South Tyrolean terroir: the name evokes 'calix', the chalice, and 'calx', the limestone. A pure Chardonnay cultivated on gravelly soils with a high proportion of dolomitic limestone, it is a fine blend with a mountain character. On the nose are intriguing tropical hints of banana and pineapple. With slight spicy hints on the finish that betray the fermentation in wood. The palate is fresh, with surprising aromaticity and a long finish of distinct, savoury minerality
