CHARDONNAY 'LÖWENGANG' ALOIS LAGEDER 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Chardonnay "Lowengang" by Alois Lageder is a wine originating from Magrè in Alto Adige, a symbol of how much these territories are able to donate for wine production. The winery was founded in 1823 and today with Alois Lageder it has reached the sixth generation: Alois has invested in architecture, reviewing the vinification and storage spaces, using only sustainable materials and thinking of feeding everything with renewable energy. The 50 hectares of vineyards are entirely cultivated with organic and biodynamic agriculture, in order to protect and respect the entire ecosystem that surrounds us: the integration with the pastures and the vegetable garden has helped to make the soil even more fertile.

The Chardonnay grapes of the "Lowengang" of Alois Lageder come from vines located in the areas of Magrè, Cortaccia, Salorno and Pochi, located between 250 and 500 meters above sea level; the soils are rich in pebbles, sand and gravel, a feature that guarantees excellent growth conditions for plants. The Alps protect against the incursion of particularly cold currents, leaking the warm currents coming from Garda and the Mediterranean with mild and sunny summers and cold winters, a situation that guarantees freshness to the wines produced. The harvest is manual, fermentation in steel; vinifies on the lees and on the lees in steel for about 4 months.

Alois Lageder’s Chardonnay "Lowengang" is presented in the glass of a limpid and brilliant straw yellow with greenish reflections; on the nose there are fruity notes of peach, melon and citrus and on the finish mineral hints. The palate is impressed by a well-calibrated structure, full-bodied and soft on the finish. It goes perfectly with fish and shellfish dishes, but also with white meat. Product that is suitable to be consumed during summer openings with friends always by the sea for evenings of conviviality and sharing, enjoying a drink in the glass resulting from a philosophy of work respectful of the raw material.
