Vieux Telegraph's Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 'Telegramme' comes from relatively young vines from La Crau or Piedlong, vocational areas near the winery. The blend of 4 mostly Grenache vines gives rise to an important but also drinkable red wine. The nose is dominated by hints of red fruits, followed by tertiary hints reminiscent of cocoa. The sip is deep but juicy, a wine that is a perfect companion for the table

The Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 'Telegramme' from the French winery Vieux Telegraph is a label that stands out for its intensity, structure and envelopment, an authentic expression of the Domaine's style. The 'Telegramme' is the winery's second most prestigious label, the result of a combination of grapes from the youngest vineyards located in the prized areas of La Crau and Piedlong and those from old vineyards outside these territories. The name of the Domaine, which literally means 'old telegraph', derives from the fact that at La Crau, a historic plot of land that the Brunier family has been cultivating since the end of the 19th century, a repeater tower was installed in 1821 by Claude Chappe, the inventor of the optical telegraph.
The 'Telegramme' Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge consists of a blend of Grenache Noir (80%), Syrah (10%), Mourvèdre (6%) and Cinsault (4%), varieties grown on different types of soil, generally characterised by an abundance of round pebbles. Harvesting is carried out by hand with a triple selection, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, and is followed by the destemming of the grapes, which are then mellowed in stainless steel tanks for temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation with maceration on the skins. Once malolactic fermentation is also completed, the mass is placed to age in large French oak casks of 30 and 60 hectolitres for the long ageing process of 15-16 months. Clarification or filtration is then excluded during the entire process.
The Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 'Telegramme' from Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe has a deep ruby red colour. The nose denotes vivid and generous sensations of ripe plum and cherry, combined with deep hints of cocoa and liquorice. The taste is warm and intense, with a fleshy tannic texture that rests on a long persistent finish.
