CHENIN 'LE MASET DE LUMET' DOMAINE LA COUME-LUMET 2023 DESCRIPTION

With its citrusy and mineral essence, the Chenin "Le Maset de Lumet" from Domaine La Coume-Lumet captures the character of Chenin Blanc as expressed in the winegrowing region of Aude, home to the Domaine. The Domaine La Coume-Lumet project began in early 2013, when Luc and Isabelle, after purchasing a beautiful estate in the Limoux area of Languedoc-Roussillon, started the restoration of the attached vineyards. Today, the Domaine encompasses 17 hectares of vineyards, all in a single block, located within the commune of Cépie, between Carcassonne and Limoux.

The Chenin Domaine La Coume-Lumet "Le Maset de Lumet" is a 100% Chenin Blanc crafted from vines cultivated using eco-sustainable practices, certified by TerraVitis. The rows are situated on a south-facing slope at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, in the Mediterranean climate with oceanic influences typical of the area. The soil, of glacial origin, is rich in pebbles, clay, and limestone, with less sandy structure. After harvest, the grapes are traditionally vinified in white, with gentle pressing followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks. Aging takes place in oak barrels, where the wine rests for several months until final bottling.

The Chenin "Le Maset de Lumet" from Domaine La Coume-Lumet displays a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals fragrant aromas of peach, lemon, citron, and white flowers, complemented by distinctive mineral notes reminiscent of wet stones. The palate is fresh and complex, with an intense mineral character that contributes to the overall gustatory tension.
