CHIANTI CLASSICO CASTELLARE DI CASTELLINA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Castellare's Chianti Classico is a red wine that proudly claims its origins, a wine that has the soul and heat of the most authentic Tuscany. The Castellare winery certainly needs no introduction: the Sodi di San Niccolò are famous throughout the world and represent the excellence of made in Italy, recognized and established beyond our borders. Its labels are now recognized everywhere, with the various species of birds represented there, underscoring the great importance that this winery, in the heart of Chianti Classico, gives to the ecosystem in which it is located, rich in woods and olive groves.

Castellare di Castellina Chianti Classico consists of 95 percent Sangiovese grapes and 5 percent Canaiolo: a strongly Tuscan imprint of purely native vines. The vineyards are located on the hills of Castellina in Chianti, at an altitude of 350-400 meters above sea level and with mainly calcareous soil. Following the harvest in October, the grapes are fermented in steel, where malolactic fermentation also takes place. Ageing takes place in French oak barrels for 7 months, followed by another 7 in the bottles.

Chianti Classico di Castellare di Castellina shows its intense character already from its deep ruby red colour. On the nose come hints of cherry and violet that, together with hints of liquorice and vanilla, create a very suggestive olfactory bouquet. The palate reflects balance and reconfirms the cherry already present among the aromas, with tannin supporting the whole body. A really well-made red wine, surprising for elegance and typicality, especially when compared to a really surprising price. A Chianti that pleases, convinces, and takes us hand in hand over the most fascinating hills of its Tuscany. In short, a bottle that has something to tell and lets itself be listened to with extreme pleasure. Try it!
