CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA 'VILLA ANTINORI' 2021 - 37.5CL DESCRIPTION

Chianti Classico Riserva "Villa Antinori" is one of the most celebrated representatives of the Chianti tradition, a splendid fusion of finesse and classicism. A historic wine par excellence, inextricably linked to the history of the illustrious Tuscan appellation and to the almost thousand-year history of its producers, the Antinori family.

The 'Villa Antinori' was born in 1928, immediately becoming a reference point for its type. The profound union between man and the land of origin moved Pietro Antinori, the family's first vintner in 1385, and his successors, to produce wines that bore liquid witness to the place. After discontinuing the production of Chianti for about ten years, the Antinori family decided to give it a new lease of life, reintroducing it to the market in conjunction with the opening of the new winery located in the Chianti Classico area. The grapes are predominantly Sangiovese, with a small balance of Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives the wine softness and structure. It matures in second and third passage barriques, enriching its aromatic range with toasty and sweet notes.

The Riserva 'Villa Antinori' presents itself with a sparkling ruby colour that veers towards garnet. On the nose, it immediately paints a darkly coloured picture of berries intertwined with lashings of coffee and vanilla. The sip, decisive and persuasive, immediately conquers by virtue of its caressing tactility. It deserves to be spent on rare steaks and regional preparations such as peposo, as well as well seasoned first courses. A piece of history that has been able to renew itself, however, continuing to surprise with class and elegance.
