CHIANTI CLASSICO SAN GIUSTO A RENTENNANO 2018 DESCRIPTION

Chianti Classico is San Giusto a Rentennano's most typical red wine, a pure expression of the great Tuscan tradition. It comes from a historic estate located in the Gaiole in Chianti area and is conducted according to the principles of organic farming. Respect for nature, grapes of exceptional quality and a winemaking process that is simple and respectful of the raw material give an intense wine with fragrant fruity aromas that make the sip particularly pleasant, immediate and smooth.

The red Chianti Classico San Giusto a Rentennano sees the light of day within an estate that covers a total area of no less than 160 hectares, 31 of which are devoted to vineyards and the others to olive groves, arable land, pastureland and large wooded areas, which ensure a rich environmental biodiversity. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 270 meters above sea level and are cultivated on rather heterogeneous soils composed of tufa, sand, silt and limestone. The good temperature ranges allow slow ripening and the accumulation of particularly rich aromas. The wine comes from a selection of Sangiovese grapes to which a small percentage of Canaiolo is added. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation takes place in cement tanks and stainless steel vats with maceration on the skins lasting a couple of weeks, with periodic pumping over and punching down. The wine matures for 11 months in large barrels, tonneaux and French oak barriques and is bottled only after light filtering.

Chianti Classico San Giusto, a Rentennano wine, is the bottle that has always been part of the best food and wine customs of the Chianti area. It is a ductile red, which at the table goes very well with tasty first courses of Tuscan cuisine, roasts or grilled meats. To the eye, it has a beautiful bright ruby red colour. Intense and fragrant, it expresses a bouquet highlighting the richness of the fruity aromas of ripe cherry, red currant, and morello cherry, hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean maquis and delicate spicy nuances. Elegant and pleasantly fruity, it delivers a sip with juicy and crisp aromas, with a tannic texture well integrated with the body of the wine and a finish of good flavour persistence.
