Chiaretto del Garda 'Rosa dei Venti' Saottini 2023

Saottini's Chiaretto del Garda ‘Rosa dei Venti’ is a fresh and delicate rosé wine made from Groppello and Marzemino grapes. Originating from the predominantly morainic hilly terrain of Lake Garda, this wine is identified by its easy-drinking and distinctly ‘summery’ character. The nose suggests, in fact, aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries, hints of red roses and hints of cloves. For pairing, delicate flavours that do not overpower the lightness of ‘Rosa dei Venti’ should be preferred: a raw fish starter will be the ideal choice

CHIARETTO DEL GARDA 'ROSA DEI VENTI' SAOTTINI 2023 DESCRIPTION

With its savory yet refreshing taste, the Riviera del Garda Classico Chiaretto "Rosa dei Venti" from the Saottini winery is an ideal wine to counter the heat of summer days, even better when served outdoors in a bucolic setting, but suitable for any occasion. The Chiaretto type included in the Riviera del Garda Classico denomination is reserved for rosé wines produced on the eastern and southern slopes of Lake Garda. These are made from red grapes such as Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera.

The "Rosa dei Venti" Saottini Chiaretto Riviera del Garda Classico is a blend of Groppello (75%) and Marzemino (25%) grapes grown on hilly terrain of morainic origin. Harvesting is done by hand in crates and is followed by soft pressing of the clusters with a very short skin maceration directly in the press. At this point, the must is allowed to settle to allow the sediment to settle, and then fermentation is initiated in stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts, with the process taking place at a controlled temperature of just 14 °C, a factor that favors the preservation of aromas. The subsequent aging phase also takes place in steel, and after a few months, the wine is finally bottled and marketed.

In appearance, the Riviera del Garda Classico Chiaretto Saottini "Rosa dei Venti" displays a delicate pink hue with coral reflections. Immediate aromas of wild strawberries, apple, raspberry, and rose petals envelop the senses, accompanied by hints of white pepper and cloves. The taste, fresh and savory, is characterized by a juicy and lively development, easy to drink, with good persistence in which the fruity sensations perceived on the nose return.

Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
