'COLLE FREGIARA' ANFORA ANNESANTI 2021 DESCRIPTION

The 'Colle Fregiara' Anfora from the Umbrian Annesanti winery is a version of Trebbiano Spoletino made with maceration on the skins and ageing in terracotta amphorae. It is a very special wine that draws on the oldest traditions of winemaking with white grapes of Georgian origin. The wine is made using a local white grape variety of great personality, with a very rich aromatic bouquet and vibrant freshness. The end result is a very complex and evolved white wine, enveloping and deep.

Annesanti 'Colle Fregiara' is the fruit of the research work of a promising young winemaker from the Valnerina. Francesco Annesanti's estate is located in the hilly area of Arrone, in the province of Terni, and covers an area of just over 5 hectares, cultivated with the typical varieties of the region: Sangiovese, Grechetto, Trebbiano Spoletino. In the countryside, an approach inspired by biodynamic concepts is used, with the aim of producing wines that are the most direct and coherent expression of the varietal characteristics of the grapes and the land. Genuine, straightforward wines, made by drawing inspiration from the most ancient traditions, revised in the light of modern oenological knowledge. The Trebbiano Spoletino vines are cultivated on clayey and loamy soils with a south-eastern exposure. Vinification takes place in terracotta amphorae with long maceration on the skins. The wine matures again in terracotta for 10 months and for 3 months in glass demijohns.

Anfora "Colle Fregiara" produced by Francesco Annesanti is a white wine with a territorial face that, thanks to the use of maceration, proposes an expressive integrity of fruit. It is a label that will certainly meet the taste of those in search of artisanal wines, outside the standardised production schemes. The colour is golden yellow. The bouquet is intense and articulate, with floral scents, citrus aromas, notes of fresh almonds, spices, smoky and mineral sensations. The sip is intense and rich, dense with complex aromas that envelop the palate in a harmonious and persistent manner.
