COLLEZIONE CINQUANTA SAN MARZANO DESCRIPTION

The Collezione Cinquanta by San Marzano is an intense, rich and smooth red wine that expresses the warm and Mediterranean character of the wonderful land from which it comes. It is produced by blending two red grape varieties. The wine profile is particularly harmonious and enticing, with mature aromas of red fruit, hints of berry jam and spicy nuances. It is an ideal wine for those who love round and enveloping reds, characterized by a warm, dense and very smooth taste. It is a perfect wine to bring to the table with a mixed grilled meat dish.

The red Collezione Cinquanta is one of the flagship wines of the San Marzano winery, one of the most important and famous realities in the Puglia region. It was born from the desire to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the winery's foundation with a prestigious wine, made with the best red grapes. The winery has a property of about 600 hectares, which belongs to 1200 contributing partners. Founded in the 1960s, San Marzano has embarked in recent years on a virtuous path oriented towards quality production, which can express the potential and great traditions of the land of Salento and above all enhance the historically cultivated varieties in the region.

The Collezione Cinquanta wine from the Puglia-based San Marzano winery is a great red wine. The grapes come from old vines grown in the clayey soils of the hinterland. The harvest takes place with a slight over-ripening on the vine. The grapes undergo a brief cold maceration before fermentation in steel tanks with the use of indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins. It is a wine with a very intense color, dark ruby red with purple reflections and on the nose it recalls aromas of plum, ripe cherry, red fruit jam, hints of vanilla, boisé nuances and licorice root. The taste is warm and dense, with silky tannins and a rich fruity softness, and the finish is harmonious and very persistent.
