The White Collio "Vigne" is a medium- to full-bodied Friulian white wine made from Friulano, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon grapes. It offers an aromatic range of anise, mango and plum and on the palate closes with the typical almondy finish, accentuated in terms of softness by aging in new French oak barrels
Zuani's Collio Bianco "Vigne" was born in Friuli Venezia Giulia, near Gorizia, a wine-growing area with a vocation for producing excellent whites. The winery is family-run, and the first to give life to the winemaking project was Patrizia Felluga; she was later followed by her children Patrizia, Antonio and Caterina, and the shared project was to produce only white wines that could be the highest expression of the value of the terroir with a rare and excellent intrinsic quality.
The Friulano, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon grapes in Zuani's Collio Bianco "Vigne" grow on the hills of Collio and are cultivated respecting the surrounding environment and ecosystem. The soil is mainly composed of marly stone, better known as PONCA, which gives the wine a structure of character. The climate is generally mild due in part to the proximity to the Adriatic Sea, which mitigates temperatures in summer and winter; also important is the presence of the Alps, which help create consistent temperature excursions between day and night for excellent ripening of the grapes. Harvesting is done by hand in small wooden boxes; in the winery, vinification takes place at different times depending on the different grape varieties. Fermentation takes place in steel, where the final ageing the must also take place.
Zuani's Collio Bianco "Vigne" appears in the glass of a deep, intense straw yellow with brilliant reflections; the nose reveals notes of star anise, tropical fruit such as mango and ripe white-fleshed fruit such as white peach and pear. In the mouth, it proves involving, soft and full with a long and persistent finish enjoyed one glass after another. In pairing, it is optimal with light appetizers based on smoked fish such as salmon, steamed seafood and shellfish; also interesting with pasta and risotto dressed with seasonal vegetables and stewed white meats. An authentic product that recalls the typical scents of this promising tongue of Italian soil, suitable for dinners at formal gatherings with colleagues.
