'COSTE AL VENTO ORANGE VINTAGE' CANTINE BARBERA DESCRIPTION

Cantine Barbera introduces the Coste al Vento Orange Vintage, a radiant and saline macerated white wine. Independent winemaker Marilena Barbera is the figure behind this winery in Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, just a few kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea. The spirit that guides the production is aimed at respecting the energy and character of the Menfi terroir, inspired by the radiant sun and vigorous salty breezes. For this reason, no herbicides, chemical fertilisers or systemic products are used in the vineyard, in accordance with the practices of certified organic farming, while in the cellar, we try to intervene as little as possible, always with respect for the natural expression of the wines.

Cantine Barbera's Orange Vintage Coste al Vento comes from white grapes grown on clayey, deep, mineral soils according to certified organic farming principles. The vineyard, planted in 2017, is located on the side of hills that slope gently down towards the sea and are crossed by sea winds, hence the name. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occurs completely spontaneously, with just 12 hours of contact of the must with the skins. To avoid being deprived of its original characteristics, the wine does not undergo clarification.

To the eye, the Coste al Vento Orange Vintage Cantine Barbera expresses an intriguing pale orange hue with golden reflections. The bouquet is seductive, defined by notes of honey, Mediterranean herbs, sweet spices and citrus fruits accompanied by mentholated hints. An articulate, fresh and agile palate with great directness and a typical savoury note. A genuine and vibrant orange wine to accompany delicious fish dishes.

When to open
To enjoy an artisanal wine at its best, we recommend you to let it 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied orange wines which require a minimum oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can easily cellar it for 3-4 years
