Domaine Castagnier's Coteaux Bourguignons is a deep and extremely elegant French Pinot Noir . Fragrant aromas of red fruits of pomegranate and currants embrace more earthy notes, all enhanced by citrusy hints of lemon peel. The result is a very fresh and well-balanced wine, to be sipped with grilled or roasted meat
The Pinot Noir Coteaux Bourguignons from Domaine Castagnier impresses with its light, crisp taste and nice drinkability. The Coteaux Bourguignons appellation is reserved for wines, mainly reds based on Pinot Noir, that can be produced throughout the entire Burgundy region, designed as everyday bottles. Formerly known as 'Bourgogne Ordinaire' or 'Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire', this AOC was established back in 1937 and has long been considered a poor quality appellation. However, a host of producers are working hard to bring new lustre to the appellation by offering very interesting wines, such as the Coteaux Bourguignons of Domaine Castagnier.
Pinot Noir Domaine Castagnier Coteaux Bourguignons is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown on soils with a predominantly clayey-calcareous matrix. Agronomic management follows the dictates of organic and biodynamic agriculture, while the harvest is carried out strictly by hand. In the cellar, the grapes are placed in wooden barrels for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins, entrusted solely to indigenous yeasts. Also in wood, the wine matures for about 12 months, after which it is bottled and finally released on the market.
The Coteaux Bourguignons Pinot Noir from Domaine Castagnier has an intense ruby red colour. On the nose there are pleasant, fragrant aromas of fresh fruit such as pomegranate and redcurrant, associated with earthy hints and hints of citrus. In the mouth, it is deep but at the same time very well balanced, with remarkable freshness and light tannin contributing to the overall excellent drinkability. A remarkably approachable Pinot Noir, making it an ideal entrée for dinner, formal or informal.
