Cotes du Jura 'Clos de Jerminy' Domaine Wicky 2020

Domaine Wicky's Cotes du Jura 'Clos de Jerminy' is a white wine made from Chardonnay and Savagnin grapes produced in Sainte-Agnès, France. In this small village of just over three hundred inhabitants, Gilles and Christelle Wicky cultivate their vines on clay and limestone soils, resulting in this dry, round and mineral wine. 'Clos de Jerminy' vinifies spontaneously with indigenous yeasts before ageing in Burgundy barriques for at least 18 months, maturing fruity, spicy and smoky aromas. COTES DU JURA 'CLOS DE JERMINY' DOMAINE WICKY 2020 DESCRIPTION

The Cotes du Jura 'Clos de Jerminy' from the small artisanal estate Domaine Wicky is a complex and refined white wine, endowed with a sincere soul. It is the flagship label of this winery that manages less than 5 hectares of vineyards in a truly sustainable manner, excluding the use of synthetic chemicals and using natural infusions to stimulate the intrinsic resistance of the plants.

The 'Clos de Jerminy' Domaine Wicky is a blend of Chardonnay (90%) and Savagnin (10%) grapes grown under certified organic farming in the homonymous Clos de Jerminy plot, located near the town of Rotalier, on the southern slope of the Jura wine region. The vines range in age from 20 to 70 years and are grown on soils with high clay and limestone content, particularly composed of red earth lying on blue marls. Harvesting is strictly done by hand while vinification involves minimal intervention, with alcoholic fermentation entrusted to native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, without the use of additives and oenological aids. The subsequent aging phase lasts for 18 months and takes place in Burgundy oak barrels according to the ouille style, with frequent topping up of the barrels. The wine is finally bottled without recourse to clarification and filtration operations and also without additions of sulfur.

The 'Clos de Jerminy' Cotes du Jura Domaine Wicky has a straw yellow color with golden hues. The olfactory profile is broad and refined, characterized by complex aromas of apricot, grapefruit, ginger, vanilla, and white pepper. Smoky and saline mineral sensations frame it. The palate is dry and elegant, balancing round softness with pronounced freshness, with a long-lasting mineral finish.
