The biodynamic Famille Isabel Ferrando presents the Cotes du Rhone Blanc 'Stella Ducit', a white wine from the Southern Rhône to be appreciated for its graceful floral essence. This bottle, marketed for the first time with the 2021 vintage, is produced from very young Clairette vines, a white grape variety widespread in the Southern Rhône that is characterised by the gracefulness and grace of the wines it gives rise to, although these are usually characterised by a high alcohol content and rather low acidity. The expression 'stella ducit' comes from Latin and means 'follow your star', chosen by Isabel Ferrando to celebrate the boldness of those who live according to their free spirit.
The Cotes du Rhone Famille Isabel Ferrando 'Stella Ducit' Blanc is a 100% Clairette from young vines planted on soils formed by red clay and pebbles, cultivated according to the dictates of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with the utmost respect for the environment. After the harvest, the bunches of grapes are immediately transferred to the cellar, where they first undergo soft pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks. Also in stainless steel, the wine rests for about 6 months until final bottling, without the use of wood, so as to preserve the purest identity of the vine and the terroir.
On visual inspection, the Cotes du Rhone Blanc 'Stella Ducit' of Famille Isabel Ferrando expresses a pale straw yellow colour. On the nose, intense scents of lemon, peach and yellow flowers such as broom alternate with delicate hints of hawthorn, acacia, Mediterranean scrub and fennel seeds. A lively and dynamic taste progression, endowed with a surprising freshness that supports the pleasant sensation of fatness in a development of excellent aromatic persistence.
