DOGLIANI LUIGI EINAUDI 2022 DESCRIPTION

Dogliani is a Piedmontese red that recounts the evolution of a native variety of the region, Dolcetto. It is in fact a typical grape of the rural wine making traditions, which during the last years has been particularly ennobled in the area of Dogliani, which, since 2011, has even become the object of a transition from DOC to DOCG. The fruity aromas on the nose introduce a fresh sip, which on the finish is characterized by a typical almond aftertaste. A label that, within the entire range created by Luigi Einaudi, seems to be one of its piece de resistance, so you can not miss it.

This Dogliani comes from a traditional grape in Piedmontese viticulture, Dolcetto. Luigi Einaudi cultivates it in parcels located at about 350 meters above sea level, on soils characterized by a marly, clay and limestone subsoil, with different exposures. The must obtained by pressing the berries ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 28 degrees. After 4-5 days it is racked off, and malolactic is completed. The final aging takes place in steel tanks, where the wine remains until the spring after the harvest.

The red wine Dogliani produced by Luigi Einaudi strikes the eye with a bright ruby color and a beautiful brightness. The fruit stands out to the nose with evident notes, also enriched by floral sensations that recall violets. On the palate it's medium-bodied and round, with a sip that at the end reveals a characteristic almond taste. A label that takes the initial variety, Dolcetto, to an great expressive level, interpreting at their fullets its most interesting aspects.
