Il Dogliani Superiore "Siri d'Jermu"di Pecchenino is a medium bodied red, soft and fragrant, rich and elegant with intense fruity and spicy notes, with good persistence, aged 12 months in barrel.
The peculiarities of Dogliani Siri d'Jermu are essentially summarized by the close relation that the family Pecchenino enjoyed for centuries with Dogliani in the Langhe area, famous for its cultivation of this native vine. The farm Pecchenino was founded towards the end of '700: it has always been a family-run estate and have been handed down from father to son, being enriched, with the passage of time, by new hectares of vineyards, mostly dedicated to the cultivation of Dolcetto. Since always every cultivation technique of Pecchenino farm follows a highly sustainable model, without the need for herbicides, chemical fertilizers and plant protection systems; the vines are kept covered with grass to get better softness of the soil and to prevent erosion. In the field are operated two summer thinnings, to allow optimal and uniform ripening of the fruit, while in the cellar every fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts of the grapes, to ensure the effective conservation of the typical characteristics of each vineyard. This strict approach is followed by the Dolcetto Siri d'Jermu, obtained from the homonymous vineyard that bears its name inscribed on an attractive column at the entrance of the vineyard, surrounded by a row of roses, as in the case of other Pecchenino properties. Long macerated to get an intense aromatic extraction, Siri d'Jermu ensures transparency in comparison with the most genuine and traditional characteristics of Dolcetto. To all this, Dolcetto Siri d'Jermu combines character and distinctiveness, standing out as the actual top-product of the Pecchenino family.
