FALANGHINA 'COLLE IMPERATRICE' CANTINE ASTRONI 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Falanghina "Colle Imperatrice" from Cantine Astroni is a simple and direct white wine, characterised by crisp aromas and a gastronomic sip that is never tiring, always lively and engaging. A label with a territorial stamp, in which the varietal is the undisputed protagonist both on the nose and in the mouth, also thanks to a steel processing that enhances its most salient characteristics. A label in which the quality that always characterises Cantine Astroni's signature products is offered at a price that is affordable, to say the least.

This "Colle Imperatrice" Cantine Astroni Falanghina comes from the wine-growing area between Camaldoli and Astroni, located at about 400 metres above sea level. We find ourselves in a terroir with a sandy and loamy subsoil, where the Falanghina vines grow using the guyot system. Harvesting is carried out manually during the first ten days of October, and the bunches are immediately taken to the winemaking rooms. The must undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration, and then fermentation at low temperatures for a fortnight in stainless steel containers. The "Colle Imperatrice" then matures in steel for 4 months, remaining in contact with the fine lees; at the end of this period, it is bottled and put on the market.

Cantine Astroni's Falanghina "Colle Imperatrice" presents itself to the eye with a decidedly straw-yellow colour, crossed by a few streaks that veer more towards the greenish. The nose opens on fruity and floral hints, which develop with various nuances and references. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with a fresh sip characterised by a savoury taste, with good persistence. A well-balanced bottle, strongly gastronomic, capable of accompanying both savoury green cakes and fish starters.
